Bookshelf

Made in my first year of art school in New York City, I decided to incorporate the physical structure of wood, wire, and nails, and the emotional aspects of literature. With a book that I found in a thrift store, I erased most of the text using the the art form of black out poetry, in order to convey a message that differs from the original writing of the book. Starting on page nine is a detail that the audience won’t see while watching the video, but is an important detail none the less for its representational aspects of wisdom and maturity.
